WHO MAY PARTICIPATE IN A PROFESSION-BASED EXPERIENCE?

All seniors are required to be on campus for at least one period a day each semester. A student may enroll in senior seminar that meets on campus twice weekly if criteria is met.

Must be on track for graduation.
JUNIOR PBE: Juniors who have met the following criteria may qualify for a junior year PBE experience:
3.5 weighted GPA

Placement is aligned to PowerUP Backpack
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN A PBE?
Your schedule should work for you. We customize student schedules to fit the needs of the experience—whether that’s a half-day immersion or a full-day commitment. We’ll work with you and your employer to ensure you stay on track for graduation while gaining real-world skills.
Note to Seniors: All seniors must maintain an on-campus presence for at least one period each day per semester. However, students meeting specific criteria may fulfill this requirement by enrolling in Senior Seminar, which meets on campus twice weekly.
WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS?
Quarterly Contributor Connects
Students take the lead in their professional growth. You will facilitate 3–4 site visits per year, bridging the gap between your employer and a high school workforce leader. These sessions are designed to celebrate your wins and identify specific opportunities for advancement.
Success is measured by more than just showing up. Using the SkillUP Progression framework, both students and employers will reflect on growth in three core areas:
Communication: Articulating ideas clearly in a professional setting.
Collaboration: Working effectively within a diverse team.
Critical Thinking: Problem-solving and adapting to workplace challenges.
To maintain your 1–5 credits, students must stay actively engaged with the PBE Google Classroom. Requirements include:
Weekly Timesheets: Accurate and timely submission of hours to track your experience and progress toward graduation credits.
Quarterly Projects: One project per quarter tailored to your specific worksite experience.
As a PBE student, you are an ambassador for our school. Professional excellence is expected in the following areas:
Accountability: Managing your own documentation by submitting Weekly Timesheets every Friday. This is a non-negotiable requirement for credit.
Reliability: Demonstrating consistent attendance and punctuality at your site.
Integrity: Handling workplace tasks and confidential information with honesty and respect.
Proactive Communication: Notifying both your employer and the school immediately regarding any schedule changes, illnesses, or conflicts.
