MARKETING PRINCIPLES
Marketing Principles introduces students to the areas of marketing, as well as business law, communication skills, customer relations, economics, human resources management, and operations. Current technology will be used to acquire information and to complete activities. Throughout the course, students are presented ethical dilemmas and problem-solving situations for which they must apply academic and critical thinking skills. Leadership development will be provided through FBLA.

SPORTS AND EVENT MARKETING
This sport/event marketing course develops student understanding of the sport/event industries, their impact on local communities, and products; career opportunities in sport/event marketing; pricing considerations; positioning and product/service management; advertising, direct marketing, publicity, and sales promotion; and marketing-information management.

ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE FOUNDATIONS
This course will provide an introduction to both areas of accounting and finance. Topics will include banking, credit, financial literacy, career exploration, spreadsheet usage, and technical writing. The major focus of the course is on the accounting cycle and the communication of financial information to decision-makers. The accounting principles taught in this course are based on a double-entry system and include preparing bank reconciliations, payroll taxes, and financial statements. Detailed career exploration in the various fields of accounting will be available. Leadership development will be provided through FBLA. We will also extend our partnership with the Athletic Department and support with concession stand inventory control, profit/loss, ordering/receiving.

PRINCIPLES OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Principles of Entrepreneurship introduces students to a wide array of entrepreneurial concepts and skills, including the role of entrepreneurship in our economy, and preliminary start-up venture planning. They become acquainted with channel management, pricing, product/service management, and promotion. The capstone activity in the course is the development of detailed management and marketing plans for the school store. Leadership development will be provided through FBLA.

INTRO TO MANAGEMENT
Introduction to Management expands student understanding of management. It exposes students to several types of management, including customer relationship management, human resources management, knowledge management, information management, project management, quality management, risk management, and strategic management. Business law, communication skills, economics, operations, and professional development are also stressed throughout the course. Current technology will be used to acquire information and to complete activities. BUSINESS & MARKETING ESSENTIALS
(BAS 160 DUAL CREDIT COURSE) Taught by NCHS staff
Students examine fundamental economic concepts, the business environment, and primary business activities. They develop an understanding of and skills in such areas as customer relations, economics, emotional intelligence, financial analysis, human resources management, information management, marketing, operations, professional development, and strategic management. Throughout the course, students are presented ethical dilemmas and problem-solving situations for which they must apply academic and critical-thinking skills.
PREREQUISITE: Marketing Principles & one additional business course

ETHICAL LEADERSHIP - SCHOOL STORE
The Deck of Cards Store is a hands-on, school-based enterprise where students operate and manage a real retail business on campus. Students apply skills in merchandising, inventory management, pricing, marketing, customer service, and daily operations while making real business decisions that impact profit and performance. Through teamwork, problem-solving, and ethical decision-making, students gain authentic work experience and leadership skills while preparing for careers in retail, business management, and entrepreneurship through FBLA.
PREREQUISITE: Completed three courses in a pathway
PATHWAY: This class would be the final course in the Management & Entrepreneurship or Marketing pathway. Grades: 10-12

FINANCIAL LITERACY
Financial Literacy will help students to become financially responsible, conscientious members of society. Students will develop skills in such areas as money management, budgeting, financial goal attainment, the wise use of credit, insurance, investments, and consumer rights and responsibilities. Throughout the course, students also examine contemporary, real-world ethical dilemmas that individuals commonly encounter when managing their personal finances. A correlation to the math content in the Career Studies Standards was used in developing this course to count as a 4th math elective. *May also serve as math credit.
PREREQUISITE: Marketing Principles & Algebra II
PATHWAY: Management & Entrepreneurship and Marketing pathway
*This course is taught by NCHS math teachers but can count as a math and CTE business credit. Starting with the Class of 2029, all students will be required to take Financial Literacy.
